Our Firms’ Profile
Gordon, Stockman, & Waugh, P.C. (GSW) acquired the
accounting practice from Gordon & Sweetland, P.C. (G&S) in
January 2004. G&S has practiced public accounting
throughout Illinois for over 25 years and is considered one of
the top 4 accounting firms in Central Illinois. GSW will
continue to provide a broad range of accounting, auditing,
management consulting, and income tax planning and
compliance services to mid-sized businesses. The principals
of GSW have over 40 years of combined experience practicing
public accounting. Our Company is focused on delivering a
cost-effective, high quality and timely service. We will utilize a
variety of microcomputer accounting programs, which allows
us to import information, which is then directly linked to the
financial statement and income tax returns thus eliminating
the need to manually reenter the information. Our firm was
recently involved in the Peer Review process in accordance
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for
which we received a clean opinion.

Steve has over 20 years of significant public accounting
experience since graduating from Illinois State University.
Steve has served as the client service coordinator on a large
number of engagements. In addition to traditional
accounting and tax, Steve works with clients to determine the
factors that drive profitability and value in their businesses.
Steve also has a diversified background including experience
with manufacturing, contractors, and service companies.
Matt Waugh, CPA, CVA
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant and tax specialist. Matt
received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University
and his Masters in Taxation from DePaul University. Matt has
worked exclusively in the tax reporting and planning area for
over 25 years. Matt is a certified valuation analyst and a
member of the National Association of Certified Valuation
Analysts.
Matt’s experience includes federal, multi-state tax audits and
compliance, employee benefits, deferred compensation, and
pension plans.
